The Doon School Chess Tournament 2016
The Doon School Chess Tournament 2016, which witnessed two days full of intense Chess matches, concluded on Saturday in the ‘Kilachand Library’. A total of 18 School teams from Delhi, Jaipur, Nainital and Dehradun participated in the tournament.
This year’s tournament witnessed a very high quality of Chess performance. Among the 18 teams, the tournament witnessed 24 internationally rated players, including three players who have a FIDE rating of 2000+ and several others who have played at the National and State level.
The Results are as follows:
Winners: Modern School, Vasant Vihar, New Delhi. With 15.5 points
1st Runners-up: Sanskriti School, New Delhi. With 14 points
The Doon School A-Team comprising Atharva Shukla (282-O), Raghav Bagri (551-T), Anuman Goel (492-O) and Aryan Kasera (003-K) stood 2nd Runners-up by scoring 13.5 points.
And the The Doon School B-Team comprising Devansh Sharma (394-T), Amritansh Saraf (542-T), Rishit Thakur (468-K) and Naman D Jain (687-O) stood 4th by scoring 13 points.
