This STA is undertaken by the boys under the supervision of a Master- in- Charge, with the aim of taking the theory of manufacturing chemical-based products in the real world. From our stockpile of hundreds of recipes and formulae, we choose a few favourite chemistry activities. Boys love digging into and examining the results of these crazy chemical concoctions. This activity allows boys to learn the compositions of familiar products such as chocolate, face cream, shoe polish, pain balms, etc. and replicate them under controlled conditions. The objective is neither to imitate a branded product nor to evolve/invent another one, but to realise the value of compositions and proportions in doing tasks and learning with fun. It gives the boys an opportunity not only to learn hands-on but also to develop a working approach which complements the ICSE syllabus.
