The pace and scale of environmental deterioration today calls for urgent social action, and cycling is a very effective way of countering the deterioration. Doon encourages boys to get in the habit of cycling and thus reduce the burden on oil. Cycling in The Doon School exists as an STA. While cycling, boys also get an experience of being in the leadership role and understand the significance of having a good leader. Doon School has a rich history in training boys in cycling and in cycle maintenance. Masters and staff workers at school have also undertaken long-distance cycling expeditions. In the 1980s S. K. Vohra and S. C. Biala led cycling expeditions to Calcutta, Ahmedabad, Kathmandu and Gwalior.
